Established in 1953, BDC Capital is a private, mission driven economic development company that provides financing and investment capital for growing companies in New England. We have been recognized locally and nationally as a leader and innovator in business lending and investment. BDC Capital provides “gap financing” – supplemental assistance that bridges conventional lending and the greater needs of business and industry. For nearly 70 years, our programs have assisted thousands of New England based companies with over $1 billion of financial assistance.
In fulfilling our mission, we have a responsibility to our investors, customers, fellow employees, business partners and competitors to exemplify the following values:
Integrity – Our investors have placed great trust in us to manage their capital both prudently and ethically. When we make an investment, our integrity is key to the success of our client companies and the financial well-being of their workers. Our reputation for integrity is the most valuable asset of our organization and we continue to maintain the highest ethical standards.
Service – We seek to serve, not to be served. We will go to great lengths to provide not only what is expected of us but also what is unexpected in our service to others.
Professionalism – We will conduct ourselves to the highest standards of our profession. We will make our decisions with prudence, maintain strict confidentiality, and be forthright in all our dealings.
Teamwork – Teamwork starts with respect for the individual and the varied talents each brings to the organization. Teamwork requires an appreciation for diversity within the workplace and an attitude of receptiveness and acceptance in communications with others. We stand by the principles of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect – including promoting equality and diversity and combatting discrimination.
Empowerment – We encourage and create avenues for individual growth. We encourage personal responsibility and reward extra effort and innovation.
