Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs continued the expansion of its private capital and cross border financing capabilities with the addition of a three-lawyer team in its Private Credit and Direct Lending practice group.
Partner Cynthia Weiss, Principal Stephanie F. Lipscomb (both in Washington DC) and Associate Majer Ma (New York) join the firm from Polsinelli. Their arrival follows that of partner Gabriel Yomi Dabiri who recently joined the firm in New York from Polsinelli to serve as Global Head of Private Credit and Direct Lending.
Commenting on the hires Mr. Dabiri said, “It’s been exciting since joining Squire Patton Boggs to experience the positive response to our move from existing and new clients who appreciate the substantial global resources the firm brings to bear. Cynthia, Stephanie and Majer are integral to our continued momentum, and I am delighted they have chosen to join us. We couldn’t be more grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the firm.”
“Cynthia, Stephanie, and Majer bring substantial experience advising on a range of complex commercial financing transactions, which will be instrumental as we continue to grow our capabilities in this important and growing segment of the economy,” said Jim Barresi, Global Head of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group. “Their arrival marks an important milestone in our strategic expansion as we build a premier private credit and direct lending practice under Gabe’s leadership.”
Ms. Weiss said, “The more I learned about the capabilities across the global firm and the synergies between our team and the firm’s client base, the more this move proved to be a perfect fit. We are excited to be reunited with Gabe and collaborate with our new colleagues.”
