CLEVELAND, June 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Truist Financial Corporation today announced the expansion of its commercial banking teams across Ohio and Western Pennsylvania to support Truist's ability to generate new clients and deepen existing relationships in the region. With recent hires, Truist has added a dozen commercial and middle market bankers in key markets, including Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
"The seasoned bankers we've added to our local teams are critical to our efforts to grow our presence in the region, while continuing to execute at the highest level for our clients," said Jim Geuther, regional president at Truist. "Our investment in high-quality talent over the last year is evidence of our commitment to serving the growing business community in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania."
Pittsburgh
Two new additions to Truist's Pittsburgh commercial banking team this spring include veteran commercial banker James Spagnolo and middle market banker Eric Hersom.
- Spagnolo brings more than 20 years of commercial and corporate banking experience, most recently serving large commercial and middle market companies in Western Pennsylvania.
- Hersom has been in the banking industry for more than 15 years, with a focus on midsize companies in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.
Spagnolo and Hersom are two of four hires for the Pittsburgh team since 2024, strengthening the team's ability to provide strategic advice and deliver holistic financial solutions including corporate finance, credit needs and cash management.
"We're expanding our capacity in western Pennsylvania and Ohio to help clients navigate today's uncertain economic environment and plan for future growth," said Jodie Hughes, head of commercial banking at Truist. "We're well positioned to build on Truist's momentum in the region by delivering localized coverage alongside diverse industry expertise."
Cleveland
Middle market banker Chris Abraham recently joined Truist in Cleveland. Abraham brings more than 20 years of experience with a focus on serving middle market companies.
Abraham is the team's latest hire, following the addition of three other bankers in 2024.
Columbus
In Columbus, Truist has added three new commercial banking hires in the last year. Most recently, Ohio-native Jody Moore joined Truist as a commercial banker and Brad Mullenix started as a middle market banker.
- Moore joins with more than 25 years of experience at leading banking institutions focused on serving Columbus' commercial companies.
- Mullenix comes to Truist with more than 27 years of experience serving the banking and financial needs of middle market companies throughout Central Ohio.
Cincinnati
Bolstering Truist's expansion in southwest Ohio, Cincinnati-based middle market banker Brad Russell has joined with more than two decades of corporate banking experience.
Russell is the latest hire to Truist's existing team of commercial, middle market and industry specialized bankers in the greater Cincinnati region.
