Rick Kurz has been appointed President of Flagstar Financial & Leasing LLC and Flagstar Public Funding Corp., effective immediately, succeeding Walter Rabin, who retired on May 9.
Rick is a 30-year equipment finance industry executive and 13-year Flagstar veteran, having served in senior roles at Capital One Equipment Leasing & Financing, North Fork Bank, and Washington Mutual Equipment Finance prior to joining Flagstar. He possesses deep experience across national direct equipment, franchise finance, dealer lease & rental, and vendor finance sectors. Rick has led the National Sales team for this business, and now, as President, he will oversee a strategy that will include closer coordination and deeper relationship expansion of the equipment finance product suite to Flagstar’s existing and new commercial and business clients. Rick will be based out of both our Bothell, WA office and the greater Phoenix, AZ area.
Mike Jones will assume Rick’s former role, in an expanded title as Head of National Sales and Strategy for Flagstar Financial & Leasing LLC, reflecting his strong track record in business development and national sales leadership. Mike rejoined Flagstar in November 2024, bringing with him extensive experience from prior roles at BancorpSouth Equipment Finance, where he led structured vendor and direct originations; Wintrust Commercial Finance, where he built and scaled key client relationships; Key Equipment Finance, where he focused on mid-market expansion; and Citi Capital Commercial Corp., where he helped develop nationwide leasing solutions. Recognized as a dynamic and motivational leader, Mike has consistently delivered results through strategic vision, team leadership, and client-focused innovation. Mike will be based in Texas.
