Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the addition of Cassandra W. Borchers to the firm’s global Financial Services Practice Group. She joins as a partner based in the firm’s Cincinnati office. Ms. Borchers was previously a partner in the Corporate Transactions & Securities and Investment Management Practice at Thompson Hine LLP and served as chair of its Blockchain & Digital Assets Group.
“Cassandra’s extensive experience in fund formation and investment regulation is a key part of the broader expansion of our Financial Services Practice, where we are making global investments,” said James Barresi, global leader of the Financial Services Practice. “We are delighted to welcome Cassandra to the firm.”
Her addition follows the recent addition of Gabriel Yomi Dabiri who joined the firm as Global Head of Private Credit and Direct Lending based in New York.
Ms. Borchers added, “I am excited to join Squire Patton Boggs. The firm has a strong national and international platform with expert capabilities in the main financial centers around the world. I look forward to joining the firm’s talented and growing team.”
Ms. Borchers focuses her practice on fund formation, covering real estate, private equity, debt, hedge and venture capital funds, and related regulatory and compliance matters including federal and state securities law and related issues, such as registration and regulatory reporting. Her expertise also includes cryptocurrencies and blockchain matters, corporate representation and governance, and all aspects of counseling private funds and registered mutual funds, ETFs closed-end interval and tender offer funds. She has advised companies on securities offerings, including registered and private funds, registration, mergers and reorganizations. She has also formed and counseled commodity pools. She has also acted for issuing companies and investors in a variety of transactions, digital assets and securities offerings.
Selected to Law360’s Private Equity Editorial Advisory Board in 2025 and recommended in The Legal 500 for Mutual/Registered/Exchange-Traded Funds and Investment Fund Formation and Management, Ms. Borchers’ clients appreciate her deep experience and pragmatic insights in the financial sector.
