With over three decades of leadership experience in the investment management industry, Skillman brings a dynamic and strategic approach to client relationship management, business development, and product innovation—expertise that aligns seamlessly with Beacon Pointe's commitment to client-first institutional consulting.

Skillman is recognized for his ability to build and scale investment platforms, having successfully led high-performing teams and spearheaded new product development across both traditional and values-driven investment strategies. He is particularly adept at navigating complex financial landscapes while building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Most recently, Skillman served as CEO of Faith Investor Services, a firm he founded in 2021 to provide faith-based ETFs and wealth management solutions. Under his leadership, the firm launched multiple funds, built a recognizable brand, and integrated the acquisition of a wealth management business, enabling values-oriented investors to align their portfolios with their beliefs. This mission-driven approach aligns with Beacon Pointe's Institutional Consulting Group, which supports a wide array of organizations with socially responsible (SRI) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) mandates.

Previously, Skillman served as CEO and Managing Director of Cadence Capital Management, an $8 billion investment management firm based in Boston, where he spent over 20 years. He led the firm through a management buyout, introduced multiple investment strategies, and orchestrated its acquisition by Pacific Life, where he subsequently launched the Pacific Global ETF platform. Earlier in his career, Skillman served as Vice President at Pacific Financial Asset Management Co. in Newport Beach, helping generate over $500 million in new institutional business and expanding brand presence across emerging markets.

Beyond his executive career, Skillman is an active community leader. He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for MemorialCare Health System in Fountain Valley, CA, where he also chairs the Investment and Enterprise Risk Management Committees. He sits on the Executive Board of the Cox School of Business and the Advisory Board of the Don Jackson Center for Financial Studies at Southern Methodist University.

Skillman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from California State University, Chico, and completed the Institute of Comparative Political and Economic Systems program at Georgetown University.
