Montreal, Quebec – February 8, 2024 – Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi HC Capital America, is pleased to announce that Francis C. Meagher has joined the company as Vice President, Legal Affairs and Senior Counsel, Institutional Transactions & Special Loans.
With more than 35 years’ experience as an attorney, Meagher has practiced in the areas of insurance and business law, as well as commercial litigation. His specialties include corporate finance, and more specifically, the execution of securities and financing for different types of assets (including equipment), corporate restructuring, and contract negotiation.
“Contributing to the future of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada is something I’m quite excited about,” said Meagher. “My expertise in commercial and corporate matters, as well as my experience as a litigator, are assets that I’m looking to utilize strategically as the company moves towards its next phase of growth.”
Meagher’s experience includes past work for major financial institutions, small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance and securities brokers, both in matters of business law and court claims. His expertise in business law covers corporate financing, drafting, and negotiating various agreements such as: shareholder and loan agreements and commercial leases, as well as incorporations, the purchase and sale of businesses and the various aspects of bankruptcy, insolvency, repossession of commercial equipment and protection of securities granted to clients.

Meagher holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université de Montréal and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1984. He was also the recipient of the “Best Lawyers in Canada” award for financing in 2008 and 2010.
