NEW YORK – January 8, 2024 – Ares Commercial Finance is pleased to announce that Ian Maccubbin has joined its Business Development and Underwriting teams as a Principal. Mr. Maccubbin will be based in Boston and will assist in covering the Northeast market, where he will have cross-functional business development and underwriting responsibilities. In his new role, he will work to support the existing ABL platform as well as its ever-growing product suite including first lien, split lien, FILO, or second lien transactions.
Mr. Maccubbin joins Ares with 18 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently as a Principal on the Carlyle Group’s Private Credit team. In that role he worked to build out an asset-based and asset-backed strategy within direct lending. Prior to that he was a Vice President at PNC Financial Services Group on the Retail Finance vertical team in a full utility position.
