Onyx Asset Advisors, LLC, (“ONYX”) a boutique asset advisory and disposition firm, with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, is pleased to announce that Rick Briggs, a 40-year veteran of the financial services and asset-based lending industries, is joining its team as a managing director.
“Coming out of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, we are seeing tremendous momentum in the secured debt space,” said K. Kevin Otus, Managing Partner of Onyx. “We continue to expand our regional and national presence and are building up our Los Angeles bench to increase our support of these clients.”
Mr. Briggs will leverage his deep relationships in the secured debt industry to assist Onyx’s lender clients in realizing and monetizing the true value of their assets, including machinery & equipment, inventory, intellectual property, and real estate across a broad spectrum of industries.
“Rick has been a trusted colleague and friend for well over 20 years” added Mr. Otus. “I am extremely pleased and excited that we were able to have him join the Onyx team where he will bring his tremendous background and experience to our lender client base.”
Mr. Briggs began his career in commercial lending and credit administration at Security Pacific National Bank and Wells Fargo, where he led teams overseeing both national and middle-market borrowers. He then served as a managing director for Tiger Group, where he originated many of the firms largest and most complex disposition and valuation transactions.
“I’ve been presented with a great opportunity to work with a hugely talented team,” said Mr. Briggs. “I’m very excited to get after it” he finished with a smile.
Mr. Briggs holds a BS in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Southern California.
