Eric Bader

Senior Vice President, Rosenthal & Rosenthal

40 Under 40 Category: Business Development

Biography:

Eric Bader brings diverse experience and expertise to Rosenthal & Rosenthal, a commercial finance company specializing in factoring and asset-based lending. As senior vice president, Eric focuses on corporate and business development, including strategic marketing, technology and financial initiatives for the firm.

Eric joined Rosenthal in 2010 as a credit analyst. He was quickly promoted to vice president and underwriter in the firm’s asset-based lending group, where he was responsible for financial analysis, risk management, due diligence and business development.

Before joining Rosenthal, Eric began his career as a classically trained artist, with a focus on still life and portrait oil paintings that were exhibited in shows across the U.S. He transitioned from the art world to finance in 2008 when he enrolled at Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business.

He holds an MBA in finance and investments from the Zicklin School of Business and a B.A. from the George Washington University. He also holds the SFNet designation.

Eric lives in New York City with his wife and son.

When informed he had been selected as one of SFNet’s 40 Under 40, Eric said, “I am so honored to have been selected to be a part of the inaugural class of SFNet 40 Under 40. As a classically trained artist, I chose not to take the straight and narrow path to finance and it’s been a thrilling journey. Earning my SFNet designation was one of my proudest professional achievements, but being recognized with this award, alongside so many talented peers who have made an impact in factoring, ABL and trade finance, tops even that accomplishment.”

Cassie Rosenthal, senior vice president, Rosenthal & Rosenthal, who nominated Eric, said, “I cannot think of anyone more deserving of SFNet’s 40 Under 40 award than Eric Bader. His nontraditional career track and his versatile skill set have served him well, both in his early career as a talented fine artist and his current career as a successful commercial finance executive. Eric’s innovative ideas, mild-mannered approach and thoughtfulness make him an invaluable asset not only to the Rosenthal team, but the commercial finance industry overall.”
