Austin | Eversheds Sutherland welcomes Kathryn Nordick as senior counsel in the firm’s US Finance Practice Group, based in Austin.

Her addition underscores the practice’s continued investment in Texas and further strengthens its capabilities for advising corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, private credit lenders and financial institutions on multifaceted and high-value financing transactions.

Ms. Nordick’s arrival follows the March 2026 addition of Finance partner Phyllis Young in Houston, who serves as Head of Texas Finance. Together, their hires illustrate the firm’s momentum in Texas and its focus on expanding finance capabilities to meet growing client demand in the state and beyond.

Ms. Nordick enhances a team known for pragmatic, business-minded counsel across a wide range of financing matters. With more than 20 years of experience, she contributes a strong track record advising clients on multifaceted financing matters, including acquisition financings; mezzanine, second lien, and other structured financings; workouts; cross-border transactions; and a wide range of facilities – including syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, capital call facilities and facilities secured by unusual collateral.

Notably, Ms. Nordick has significant experience supporting clients in the technology, media, and telecommunications; life sciences; manufacturing; sports; and financial services sectors, further broadening the team’s scope of experience in major industries with sophisticated financing needs.

“Kathryn combines a strong command of deal structures with a deep understanding of the market dynamics shaping our clients’ businesses,” said Partner David Wender, US Finance Practice Group Leader. “Her experience and perspective support our growth in Texas and other major financial centers, further strengthening our strategic legal solutions as financing needs in the public and private markets continue to evolve and expand.”

“I’m thrilled to join Eversheds Sutherland and to work alongside a finance team—and a broader platform of highly regarded practitioners—recognized for their technical excellence and impactful work on sophisticated matters,” Ms. Nordick said. “The firm’s continued investment in Texas is an exciting opportunity, and I look forward to helping clients capitalize on their growth potential and support their additional financing needs across jurisdictions and industry sectors.”

Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Ms. Nordick practiced in the Corporate & Securities practice group of another corporate law firm in Texas.

So far into 2026, the firm has further expanded in Texas through the additions of Litigation partners Eric Kristiansen and Ryan Pittman and Corporate partner Cleve Glenn in the Houston office.
