As the Head of Texas Finance, Ms. Young is based in the Houston office and spends significant time in Dallas. As the seventh attorney to join the US Finance Practice Group since 2025, Ms. Young builds on the Finance group’s strong reputation for trusted counsel on broad-based finance matters, bringing multifaceted experience in secured lending, debt finance, project finance, restructuring, complex intercreditor agreements, mergers and acquisitions and other transactional and corporate matters. In her nearly 25 years of practice, Ms. Young has successfully guided financings valued in the hundreds of millions and billions of dollars across multiple industries and has played a significant role in assisting companies and lenders through in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
"I am happy to welcome Phyllis to our Finance Practice Group. She is a top-notch practitioner whose depth of experience in finance and restructuring will be a significant resource in meeting our clients’ needs,” said Lino Mendiola, Global Co-CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland. “Given her strong connection to Texas markets, she is also a strategic addition for our clients that require Texas-centric finance support in energy and other regional growth areas."

"Her comprehensive perspective aligns with our growth objectives and will help us identify new innovative financial solutions for our clients as business transformation accelerates."
"I am excited to join Eversheds Sutherland and collaborate with outstanding attorneys across the finance team and other highly regarded practice areas known for their legal skills and impactful work in sophisticated areas of finance,” Ms. Young said. “Additionally, the firm’s strong commitment to the Texas market provides a strong platform for serving my clients and pursuing new opportunities in this dynamic business environment.”
