NEW YORK – June 1, 2026 – Kleinberg Kaplan announced that Norris Nissim has joined the Firm as a partner in its Private Funds & Investment Management practice. His arrival — along with other recent senior additions — reflects Kleinberg Kaplan’s continued investment in building further depth and sophistication around the evolving needs of its private funds, investment management, and institutional client base.

Norris joins Kleinberg Kaplan after spending nearly 20 years as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Luxor Capital Group, a multi-billion-dollar leading global alternative asset manager — and a longtime Kleinberg Kaplan client. His decision to join the Firm after two decades of working alongside it as outside counsel is a powerful testament to the depth and quality of the partnership Kleinberg Kaplan builds with its clients. Norris brings an invaluable in-house perspective to private funds, investment management, securities, trading, compliance, and market-conduct matters, deepening the Firm’s ability to serve asset managers, family offices, and institutional investors at a senior, strategic level. Prior to Luxor, Norris served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at BKF Asset Management and practiced as an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale University.

At Kleinberg Kaplan, Norris will advise clients across a range of matters including fund formation and structuring, regulatory compliance and SEC and CFTC examinations, day-to-day investment management operations and governance and trading and market-conduct issues.

“Norris is not just senior talent — he is genuinely exceptional,” said Andrew Chonoles, Managing Partner of Kleinberg Kaplan. “After nearly 20 years as General Counsel at one of our most valued clients, Norris has worked with numerous outside counsel and is uniquely positioned to evaluate them. That he chose to build the next chapter of his career at Kleinberg Kaplan speaks volumes about what this firm delivers. Our clients — whether established fund managers, emerging managers building their first platform, or family offices managing complex portfolios — will benefit enormously from an advisor who has sat in the general counsel seat, navigated live trading and regulatory issues, and understands how investment operations actually work. His addition, together with the other experienced lawyers we have welcomed this year, underscores our commitment to growing thoughtfully around the needs of our clients.”

“I have worked closely with Kleinberg Kaplan for nearly 20 years, and that relationship gave me a distinctive vantage point on what this firm brings to the table that others simply do not,” said Norris Nissim. “Having engaged many outside counsel over the course of my career, I can say that Kleinberg Kaplan combines genuine legal sophistication with a caring, client-focused approach that is extraordinarily rare. That combination, as well as their commitment to creative yet practical guidance, is what drew me to join the Firm. I look forward to bringing my in-house perspective to our clients.”

Nissim’s arrival continues a period of strategic growth for Kleinberg Kaplan. Last month, Ryan Davis joined the Firm from Torys LLP, where he advised on executive compensation, equity incentive plans, and employment matters in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and financings — strengthening capabilities critical to private fund clients structuring management company economics and key-person arrangements, as well as emerging companies and other operating company clients implementing management incentive plans. The Firm also recently added Tiffanye Threadcraft as senior counsel from Akin Gump, where she represented lenders, borrowers, and alternative capital providers across acquisition financings, debt restructurings, cross-border financings, and subscription line facilities — deepening the Firm’s credit and finance platform. Together, these additions reflect Kleinberg Kaplan’s commitment to purposeful growth driven by client needs.
