CIBC Adds Richard Wainio as Managing Director, Asset Based Lending – Great Lakes Region

Richard Wainio has joined CIBC as Business Development Officer and Managing Director within the Asset Based Lending group, based in Cleveland, OH. Rich brings more than 30 years of industry experience, with deep expertise in new business generation and structuring senior debt solutions for middle market clients. He will lead new deal originations and drive marketing strategy across the Great Lakes region, with a focus on expanding CIBC’s referral network among private equity groups, investment banks, and turnaround consultants.

Prior to joining CIBC, Rich served as Senior Vice President with First National Bank Business Credit, focusing on business development in the Great Lakes market. He previously spent two decades with U.S. Bank’s Asset Based Finance Group, developing strong relationships throughout Ohio and surrounding states. Rich holds a degree in Finance and Accounting from Baldwin Wallace University, and is an active member of ACG, TMA, and SFNet. He also participates in community fundraising initiatives, including the MS 150 and Velosano.
