BHI Appoints Gurpreet Bal as Chief Information Officer

NEW YORK, May 4, 2026 – BHI, the U.S Branch of Bank Hapoalim, B.M. and a full-service commercial bank, today announced that it has appointed Gurpreet Bal as Chief Information Officer. Bal will report directly to CEO Gil Karni and join BHI’s Executive Team. She will assume the role in the coming weeks.

Bal brings more than two decades of experience shaping enterprise technology strategy, building scalable architecture, and leading high-performing engineering and data teams across the financial services industry. She joins BHI from Guardian Life, where she served as VP, Head of Enterprise Architecture, Engineering & Data Technology. Prior to that, she held senior leadership roles at S&P Global and worked across leading global financial institutions including Société Générale and Goldman Sachs. She has also served as an advisor to organizations both large and small, ranging from GE and Accenture to emerging fintech and startup entities.
