SFNet Secured Finance Certified Professional (SFCP) program, offered to employees of SFNet members, features a robust curriculum of live online courses. Certification criteria are designed to reinforce industry excellence, elevate professional standing, and propel careers forward.
The program is set to become the gold standard in asset-based lending and factoring, offering a prestigious career milestone. Targeted at emerging and mid-career professionals, the program requires mastery of core subjects, evidenced by passing a comprehensive exam. Certified individuals earn an SFCP credential, showcasing their ongoing dedication to professional integrity and industry best practices.
Here, we spotlight one of our first SFCPs, Paola Socci, associate portfolio manager, Siena Lending.

Congrats on being one of the first in our industry to achieve the SFCP designation! What motivated you to complete the SFCP program?
I first learned about the SFCP program through colleagues at Siena and via SFNet communications. Having previously enjoyed SFNet’s course offerings, pursuing the SFCP felt like a natural progression and an opportunity to continue growing my knowledge through more advanced coursework.
Can you provide our readers with some background on your career and your current role in the industry?
I began my career in ABL in early 2022 as an analyst at Siena. Over the past three years, I’ve advanced into portfolio management. In my current role, I manage relationships with a portfolio of borrowers across a range of industries and deal sizes.
Can you walk our readers through the classes you have taken to achieve the SFCP designation?
To earn the SFCP designation, I completed a series of courses including Portfolio Management, Loan Documentation, Financial Analysis, and Workout & Bankruptcy courses. Each class provided valuable perspective on its respective topic and enhanced my practical understanding of ABL and risk management.
If there is anything else you would like to mention?
I’d just add that the SFCP program is a great way to stay sharp and continue growing in this industry. I am proud to be among the early professionals to earn this designation and look forward to pursuing further courses and conferences through the SFNet as I grow in my career.
