Maurice is a nationally recognized litigator with extensive trial and appellate experience. Known for his relentless commitment and creative problem-solving, he has tried numerous cases to verdict and secured countless wins for his clients.
Businesses, institutions, and individuals from across the country seek out Maurice's innovative approach to litigation and dispute resolution. He represents clients in litigation involving complex commercial transactions, funds transfers, payment systems, and business bankruptcies. Maurice has also had high-profile successes for financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees, and public and private corporations and their officers. He holds the record nationally for the largest verdict ever—$352 million-rendered in favor of one lender against another financial institution.
Maurice's commitment to a powerful presentation of his clients' rights has earned him considerable acclaim and recognition from colleagues, adversaries, and courts. He has received an AV Peer Review Rating-the highest level of professional excellence in the Martindale-Hubbell system and has been named a Super Lawyer for thirteen years in a row by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.
Deeply dedicated to the integrity of the legal system, Maurice maintains an active pro bono practice. He spent thirteen years and donated thousands of hours of legal work challenging an Alabama prisoner's death sentence. After extensive state and federal court proceedings, Maurice secured a reversal of the client's death sentence. His tenacious drive, strategic thinking and compassion, which made this success possible, are core qualities of his representation of all our firm's clients.
