Wolters Kluwer Survey Implications for Banks’ ESG Preparedness

A just-issued Wolters Kluwer survey of 700 lawyers in law firms, corporate legal departments and business services firms across the U.S. and nine European countries gauges the trajectory of demand for ESG-related services, with sobering implications for lenders and other financial institutions. While ESG remains a core priority in the corporate agenda, a majority of law firms (69%) are not yet ready to meet client demand in that area. Banks may need to manage expectations more guardedly as they engage with legal counsel in identifying business opportunities—and managing their risk profiles in the ESG space. Read more.
