Letter from the SFNet Southern California President
September 29, 2021
Dear SFNet SoCal Friends,
The Board and I hope you and your families are doing well and staying safe & healthy. The past eighteen months has been a trying time for everyone, and we all look forward to getting back to normal soon.
A lot has changed since March 2020, which includes the CFCC rebranding itself to SFNet – Southern California. For those who are not aware, the Board voted in favor of making the change to align itself with the name change embarked on by the CFA (Commercial Finance Association) which rebranded itself SFNet (short for Secured Finance Network). As you may or may not know, the CFCC was founded in 1974 and was the first trade association supporting the finance community in Southern California. The pioneers and founders set forth the mission of supporting the lender and finance community, to create a venue to promote education, establish a voice in government to protect lenders’ interests, and in my opinion and maybe most importantly, create a venue to forge business relationships and friendships. Despite the name change, our mission has not and will not change.
On behalf of the SFNet SoCal’s (fka CFCC) Board of Directors, I feel that it is important to express our sincere appreciation to our chapter founders, without their vision we would not have been able to build one of the strongest finance community chapters in the country.
As we recognize the past, we now look to the future, and we felt that it was time to align and leverage the National footprint as many of our member’s relationships and partnerships are nationwide. There should be no cause for concern as we are still the same organization focused on the interests of Southern California lenders, banks, service providers, attorneys, appraisers and liquidators, but now have a larger footprint through the national SFNet affiliation, which will hopefully broaden the exposure for everyone associated with our chapter. Although we always aligned ourselves with the CFA, the CFCC was the only independently run chapter in the country, and it is with this spirt and closeness to our Members, Sponsors, and guests that we will continue to operate in that capacity under the SFNet logo.
We did not take this decision lightly and came to the conclusion that making this move would benefit not only our Southern California chapter, but would ultimately benefit the finance community as a whole as we connect on a national level with other chapters.
I invite you to visit the National website sfnet.com; along with our chapter information https://www.sfnet.com/home/chapters/southern-california. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and thank you for the 45+ years for supporting each other.
Sincerely,

Jason Anish, President, SFNet Southern California
