Valley Bank has named Jeff Armstrong senior vice president of its commercial banking team in Pinellas County.
Armstrong previously was director of acquisitions for Sembler Investments and before that was market director and senior VP at The Bank of Tampa.
He will lead commercial banking and lending for Valley Bank throughout the county, according to a release from the bank. He'll be in charge of six relationship managers that cover the bank's county presence, which includes seven branches.
“We have a heavy focus on helping companies that are in the $10 [million] to $50 million revenue range and are growing, and there is a wealth of these companies in Pinellas that Valley could help,” Armstrong said in the release.
Armstrong will report to Al Rogers, who heads Valley’s (NASDAQ: VLY) commercial banking division for Florida and Alabama. The bank, a subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp, is based in New Jersey.
“We plan to continue growing our presence in Pinellas, and Jeff’s background and commitment to the Tampa Bay community is a perfect fit,” Rogers said.
