Award-winning MOD Interiors is latest acquisition for Northbrook and Watseka Illinois-based Groups
Northbrook, IL (March 20, 2023) – The joint venture of Big Shoulders Capital and Iroquois Industrial Group has completed the acquisition of MOD Interiors, one of the leading architectural millwork, design and engineering firms in the nation. Since 1982, MOD has created stunning interior spaces of all kinds, including corporate headquarters, high-end restaurants, hotels, stadiums, universities, and residential. Its work has received numerous national awards including the Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Standard of Excellence. The company’s work has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, Perspectives in Design, AWI Design Solutions and many others.
Big Shoulders and Iroquois also jointly own Benda Conveyor Solutions and Savannah Industrial Solutions, which does metalwork, stonework, woodwork, and has finishing capabilities including its recently installed powder coating line.
“By bringing MOD Interiors and Savannah Industrial Solutions into partnership, each firm will be able to bid on and execute larger portions of projects than they’d be able to individually,” said Brian Schroeder, VP of Equity Investments at Big Shoulders Capital. “MOD will be able to utilize the metalwork, stonework, and high-volume woodworking capabilities of Savannah, and Savannah will enjoy the high-end millworking capabilities MOD Interiors is known for.”
“Both companies will have more control over completion timelines, and will benefit from increased access to talent and expertise on technical and design software,” noted Shane Dittrich, CEO of Iroquois Industrial Group.
MOD Interiors, based in Michigan, will continue to operate independently and no jobs will be lost as a result of the purchase, according to BSC and IIG. For 40 years, Matt Gaglio has been the face of MOD, and will continue to play a key role going forward. More information is available at www.modinteriors.com
