Biography:

Robert Meyers is known as a strong leader with the ability to recruit and grow high-performing sales teams. As Republic Business Credit’s chief commercial officer, Robert is responsible for expanding the company’s presence into the Midwest, West Coast, Southwest and beyond, in order to provide working capital solutions across the entire U.S. region. Since joining the company in January 2016, Robert has driven double-digit loan growth, helping the team fund more than $20m in new accounts receivables financing facilities.

Prior to joining Republic Business Credit, Robert was interim managing director and head of sales for the California, Midwest and Northeast regions at Bibby Financial Services. While there, Robert developed the regional sales teams while consistently bringing in new business, earning the top annual sales person award for three consecutive years and bringing in some of the company’s largest clients.

Having spent more than 10 years in the commercial finance industry, Robert is experienced in developing strategic partnerships and regularly works with turnaround consultants, investment bankers, private equity firms, bank and non-bank asset-based lenders, and commercial bankers to create creative funding solutions.

Robert currently holds the positions of Midwest Chapter President of the Commercial Financial Association and Co-Chair of the Turnaround Management Association Special Programs. He is the founding director of the newly formed Midwest Chapter of the International Factoring Association and an MBA candidate in the Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Robert now lives in the Chicago neighborhood of Wicker Park and is passionate about traveling, golf and working with craft beer companies.

When informed he was one of the SFNet 40 Under 40 recipients, Robert replied, “It is an honor to be chosen as an inaugural award winner among a great group of leaders across the country.  This award wouldn’t be possible without the significant investments by mentors and managers over the years.  This award recognizes my belief that leadership is about creating the environment for your team to be successful.”

His nominator, Stewart Chesters, COO, managing member, Republic Business Credit, LLC, said, “One of Robert’s chief skills is his ability to find and nurture sales talent. There are many top sales people who are brilliant at sales, but unable to lead a team; Rob has proven that he excels at both sales and management.”
