Biography:

Miin graduated from Boston College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in management with a focus in marketing and finance.  She continued her education at Boston College and obtained her Master of Science in accounting, graduating in 2005.  While at BC, Miin volunteered with the Best Buddies program as well as with the Community Outreach Program, which worked with local families and helped to tutor kids after school.  Miin was also a part of Boston College Student Agencies, which was a group of student-run businesses that serviced the BC students as well as their families.

After graduating from the MSA program in 2005, Miin joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in NYC as an auditor in the Banking and Capital Markets group.  She then joined JH Cohn (Cohn Reznick) in New Jersey and focused on private construction, manufacturing and servicing companies. In 2009 she joined Burdale Capital Finance as their assistant controller and in 2012, Patriot National Bank as their assistant treasurer.  In 2014, she became the controller of Siena Capital Finance and was promoted to chief financial officer later that year.  Miin is a licensed CPA and is currently working on obtaining her certificate in Human Resource Management at Sacred Heart University.

Miin grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, Tom, their new daughter, Emma, and their puppy, Chewy.  She enjoys travelling and aspires to visit all 50 states and 7 continents.

When informed she was one of the SFNet 40 Under 40 recipients, Miin replied, “Just being nominated for the award was an honor.  Being one of the winners of the award is humbling and reinforces something that I’ve been taught at a young age – to not run away from a challenge, but rather take it as a learning experience. Winning the award is the culmination of all the experiences that I’ve been lucky to have professionally and the validation that accepting those challenges will lead to something greater.”

Her nominator, David Grende, CEO of Siena Lending Group, said, “Miin was promoted to CFO from controller two years ago. From the outset she has inspired complete confidence from all of our stakeholders, investors, lenders, board members and employees. She embraces challenges and has taken on many areas of responsibility outside of finance, leading by example and thriving on the entrepreneurial spirit of doing what it takes to get things done. She has quickly become a most-trusted advisor and a tremendous sounding board. I cannot think of many people more deserving of this recognition and I am truly proud to work beside her.”
