Advisory Team Joins Growing Restructuring & Dispute Resolution Practice

NEW YORK, NY – December 22, 2020 – CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, today announced a strategic addition to its national Restructuring and Dispute Resolution practice, extending its footprint in the Southwest and expanding its Houston office.

Three professionals from Crossroads Strategic Advisors, a respected Houston-based advisory firm founded by Jeff Anapolsky to provide recapitalization and restructuring strategies to middle market companies, are joining CohnReznick.

Anapolsky becomes a Managing Director and Southwest leader of CohnReznick’s Restructuring and Dispute Resolution (RDR) practice, overseeing a dedicated team of professionals in the Southwest. Anapolsky applies the valuable insights and creative solutions that he learned as a financial advisor, distressed investor, and bankruptcy lawyer to develop comprehensive solutions for special situations in multiple industries. With more than 20 years of experience involving numerous out-of-court workouts and Ch. 11 reorganizations, Anapolsky has also served as Chief Restructuring Officer, Interim CEO, and Expert Witness.

Also joining CohnReznick from Crossroads Strategic Advisors are Amy Stonecipher and Jean Almonte. Stonecipher's experience includes consulting for multinational energy companies, working to optimize trading processes, performing gap analyses, and developing scenario simulations. Almonte provides essential client services such as advanced financial modeling, complex valuation, and capital markets analysis.

The new team brings insightful restructuring experience with upstream oil and gas companies and oilfield services companies to CohnReznick, which is already a leading advisor to renewable energy companies. CohnReznick’s affiliated company and registered broker-dealer, CohnReznick Capital, also serves clients across the energy spectrum including independent power producers, developers, EPCs, utilities, tax equity investors, and infrastructure and private equity funds.

“Houston continues to be the venue of choice for bankruptcy filings in 2020 and it appears this trend will continue,” notes Anapolsky. “By joining CohnReznick, we gain access to the firm’s broad suite of service offerings for the energy sector, as well as healthcare, hospitality, and commercial real estate businesses and investors in Texas.”

Cynthia Romano, Global Director of CohnReznick’s Restructuring and Dispute Resolution practice adds, “With the addition of Jeff and his team, we continue to deepen our bench nationwide, most recently in South Florida and now Houston. As our team expands across the nation, we are honored to extend the success we have had helping companies improve performance, restructure, recover, and transact during such a difficult time.” Romano and colleagues in the practice recently won the 2020 Turnaround Management Association’s Turnaround and Transaction of the Year award for midsize companies.

The new team reflects CohnReznick’s strategic prioritization of Texas in recognition of recent market developments. Several industry giants across multiple sectors, including technology, commercial real estate, pharmaceuticals, and financial services made headlines recently about relocating to Texas. The state is also seeing increased demand for support with restructuring and turnaround as low energy commodity prices have created a crisis.

While serving Assurance and Tax clients across Texas for many years, CohnReznick has been steadily growing its Advisory teams in Texas as well. From transactions to turnarounds to performance improvement to emergency management, a growing number of Texas clients rely on CohnReznick’s expertise with strategy, technology, innovation, and risk management.

CohnReznick’s Houston office is located at 5847 San Felipe St, Suite 625, Houston, TX 77057. Tel. 713-324-8100.
