CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, today announced the addition of David Weinstein to its Restructuring & Dispute Resolution practice. Weinstein joining the team, which follows the addition of eight turnaround and restructuring veterans last year, will expand senior resources for debtor and lender workouts and restructuring both in and out of court. Based in Florida, his hire also expands the firm’s local presence to better service clients in this region.

David joins the firm as a Managing Director and Southeast leader for the Restructuring & Dispute Resolution Practice. He boasts deep experience across key industries most impacted by Covid-19, such as retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, automotive, and aviation.  He is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) with prior senior management positions with Next Edge Capital, Blacksail Capital Partners, Ares Management LLC, Lakeside Advisors, Morris*Anderson & Associates, Ltd., Congress Financial Corporation, Arthur Andersen LLP, and The CIT Group.

Weinstein’s timely arrival expands the firm’s ability to help clients manage complex relationships and negotiations with the lending community in a time of market and economic uncertainty. He adds to a significant team of CohnReznick professionals in the state across practice areas of transaction and turnaround advisory, government advisory, tax, and assurance covering a range of industries including renewable energy, government, real estate, financial services, and healthcare. Joining David’s team is Jaime Angarita, a Restructuring and Dispute Resolution professional who relocated to Florida from the firm’s New York office.

“David’s expertise will help clients preserve and enhance liquidity for themselves and their capital providers as stimulus funds are running out,” said Cynthia Romano, Global Director of CohnReznick’s Restructuring & Dispute Resolution practice.  “We’re pleased to expand our on-the-ground capabilities in Florida as well, to help serve the varying needs of that growing market at this unique inflection point in time.”

Romano and partner Chris Creger were recently awarded the Turnaround Management Association’s 2020 Turnaround of the Year Award for their success in the turnaround and sale of Allentown, Pennsylvania-based Coordinated Health.
