Alvarez & Marsal Continues Expanding Its Energy Advisory Services in Houston

Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announces the addition of Craig Jones as Senior Director to its Energy practice in Houston. Mr. Jones’s appointment reflects A&M’s on-going commitment to bolster its energy-focused offerings to support energy clients and help them maximize value amidst increasingly complex market challenges.

Mr. Jones, a 20-year veteran of the energy industry, has held numerous leadership roles across the oil and gas value chain, including in oilfield services, upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. He has served in both domestic and international markets. His sales and operations improvement experience spans products and services used in drilling, production, transportation and processing in traditional and unconventional oil and gas development.

At A&M, Mr. Jones will focus on providing CFO services, merger and acquisition integration, strategy and operations management and lean performance improvement for clients in the oilfield services and manufacturing sectors.

Mr. Jones’s hiring follows the appointment of Managing Directors Rogers Herndon and Danny Boyer to A&M’s Energy practice in March 2020.

Mr. Jones’s experience and track record of success includes leading strategy development, valuation, due diligence and agreement negotiation for transactions in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Mr. Jones has also provided corporate development leadership for joint ventures, including the creation of a joint venture with a major national oil company in Asia.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Jones held numerous management roles where he navigated the intersection between shared services, finance and accounting and value creation in international contexts. In these roles he created a shared service center in Asia, managed international tax and treasury and established legal entities for new market entry.

Mr. Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Arkansas and has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
